Design Bio :
I Studied Interior Design in one of the best design Schools in Australia at the time, Sydney College of the Arts from 1986-1990.
This was a school that was highly regarded and hard to get into with over 600 applicants and with only 60 taken, only after a portfolio was submitted and went through an interview process.
The School eventually merged with The University of Technology in 1990, but it was a thriving time for design and Arts, and well respected Australian Designer Marc Newson studied sculpture and jewelry there. I studied design but more so loved furniture design, with a love for art , I graduated with a Bachelor of Design Degree from U.T.S in 1990 majoring in Interior Design and a minor in Photography.
Throughout my life I’ve always enjoyed both mediums for different reasons, and had great success in Design, mainly working with LFA and also had a string of private projects including the design and production of 40 Chairs “The Boomerang Chair” for a cafe in Whale Beach commissioned by Richard Alexander as well as several other projects including 3 retail shops for Australian international Clothing label, Zimmerman. I have also been published internationally in Interior Architecture and Design Magazine and also in Australian Vogue Living twice.
I’ve enjoyed working in a professional practice for over 12 years at, LFA Pty Ltd , but slowly got more involved in photography and thus stopped working as an Interior Designer from about 2002, with short term contracts for Egg Design Pty Ltd and Madeline Lester Design intermittently.
My passion for Design continues as I’m currently working on a collection for DCD PTY LTD, a custom furniture company started by my Brothers, over 25 years ago.
